So on the 18th of July I had the pleasure of spending a night at Holdsworth House Hotel. This beautiful 4 STAR Jacobean manor on the edge of Halifax, West Yorkshire was such a treat and I can’t wait to be going back in the upcoming weeks. Some of you may recognise this stunning manor from a few Tv appearances such as Sally Wainwright’s ' Last Tango In Halifax ' Which features one of my favourites Sarah Lancashire. Amongst many other known Tv icons!
Now for my experience...
Whilst booking the hotel we got asked for any requests which were taken care of with rapid response instantly! I attended the Hotel with a friend so we booked a twin room with breakfast and a Champagne tea for two dinner. I must admit there were so many choices in rooms to choose from including ones with two floors! Never have I seen this before in the many hotels I have stayed in over the years, so already we were spoilt for choice. We gave them an eta on our arrival and as soon as we arrived the room was ready for us. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception. Forgive me I can’t quite remember their names I’ll have to do some research but from the many workers there I can’t fault a single one of them. Very polite and well mannered. They couldn’t do enough for us! We arrived around 2:30 pm and our tea for two was booked in for 3:15pm so it gave me a little time to refresh after the journey. We were served by a lovely French waiter, he was very articulate. Fantastic! I will have to see if I can upload some photos along with this review as I took so many so it would be a-shame to let them go to waste. After our tea we decided to explore the grounds of Holdsworth. I knew they were going to be beautiful from photos I’d seen online but to see them in person was eye opening! The photos didn’t do it any justice. On arrival we were given a form for our breakfast choices for the next morning. We could either choose room service or eat at a table. We chose to do the full experience and opt for a table of our choosing. The breakfast menu was full of choice so I’m sure no one would go hungry. As we attended our chosen table the next morning our order was brought to us which I think is fantastic! It saved so much hassle and stress of choosing something on the spot under pressure. I must admit I had a few different bits and pieces! Delicious. After we’d eaten we decided to check out but as the check out time is very reasonable we didn’t feel rushed at all. Overall it was a very peaceful couple of days and I can’t wait to be back there very soon. Thank you to Holdsworth for allowing us to be guest. See you soon!
Just a little side note : This hotel is dog friendly. I certainly wasn't put off by this.
